Locked Out…. EXPERIENCE SOMETHING NEW is the theme of the 2015 Adelaide Fringe. So with that in mind I set out to discover Ancient World and see a show by Fresh Antics. Located behind historic West’s Coffee Palace in Hindley St, Ancient World is entered via a lane, past parked cars and street art to a hidden courtyard festooned with coloured lights and plants. Down a few stairs and you’re in a bar and basement theatre, which is the perfect setting for a show about 2 characters locked in a basement. Fresh Antics live up to their name, delivering a fresh, quirky, highly entertaining performance. Well-acted, with lots of laughs, Locked Out is a snappy 30 minutes and great value at $13. A true fringe experience for those who dare to stray west from the Garden.
